Parimala has over 25 years of experience in banking technology. Her career began in the retail and corporate banking departments of Union Bank of India. She successfully led a Total Branch Automation pilot project for the bank’s new IT division and was appointed Head of the Zonal IT Division in Bengaluru. Transitioning from banking to technology, she became Vice-President, FIS India, where she supervised the end-to-end IT requirements of small institutions including Bandhan Bank, ESAF, Fincare, Suryoday and NESFB.

Parimala holds a BSc (Hons.) and a master’s degree in English from Bombay University, and a post-graduate diploma in Computer Management.
