Prof V Ramachandran
Prof Ramachandran has over three decades of operational and strategic experience in HRM, executive coaching, and design and delivery of Assessment and Development Centres. He has a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Madras, a Master’s degree in Personnel Management and Labour Welfare from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, and an Executive Certificate from INSEAD, Singapore in International Human Resources Management.

Starting his career at BHEL, he worked at the Associated Capsules Group and the Golden Tobacco Company. He was the first HR Director of Texas Instruments in India and of the Murugappa Group; in the latter role he oversaw HR governance across the 29 group companies. He has served in senior HR leadership positions at Motorola, AT&T, SITA and Air Mauritius. He is an Independent Director of Konkan Speciality Poly Products Pvt Ltd, Mangalore, and Advisor to the Executive Director, Chairman and Managing Director of a manufacturing plant in Hubli. He is highly sought after as a trusted advisor to or Independent Director of company Boards.
Prof Ramachandran is an empanelled Executive Coach for the LTSM executive programme at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. He is Adjunct Professor at IIM Bangalore, teaching ‘The People Side of Strategy’ and co-directing a public programme entitled ‘Senior Leadership Coaching: Coaching for Performance’. He lectures frequently on a variety of behavioural science topics at the IIM Bangalore Centre for Executive Education.
His wide-ranging international exposure through many years spent in Singapore, London, Mauritius and India has given Prof Ramachandran the unique ability to quickly put his finger on the pulse of people, situations and challenges, devising creative and compelling remedies for systemic and cultural disharmonies in organizations and leadership groups.
His expertise in creating Assessment Centres and mentoring top leaders is much in demand: he has worked with business unit heads; General Managers, VPs and Country Managers; members of Global Executive Boards; Regional Presidents of high-profile firms in India, the US, the Republic of Korea; Australia and several African nations. He has helped C-suite executives develop self-awareness, harness their motivations, and set clear, practical and collaborative goals.
