Prof Rao’s long and diverse career includes senior leadership positions at State Bank of India, the SBI Institute of Rural Development and State Bank Staff College. Drawing upon his diverse experience of banking, rural business and microfinance, he has trained executives in HR, Leadership Development and Behavioral Science. Prof Rao has contributed to many development-oriented research projects and published several academic and conference papers. He volunteers at the National Kisan Call Centre, answering farmers’ questions on Kisan Credit Cards and farming loans. He has visited farms across India, the US, Europe and the Middle East to pursue his interest in progressive farming practices. In his training programs, Prof Rao identifies individual potential amidst divergent the social dynamics of corporate governance, blending behavioral mapping with the organization’s strategic imperatives for personnel management. As an educator, his style blends a nuanced understanding of pedagogic models with rational thinking, business goals, ethical business practices, and a simple, effective and timely approach to problem-solving.

Prof RV Rao holds an MSc in Agriculture & Technology from the GB Pant University, an MBA in Banking & Finance, a postgraduate diploma in Financial Advising, and a CAIIB from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance. He is a Certified Professional in Life Insurance and General Insurance, an AMFI-certified Mutual Fund Advisor, and an ISO 9001:2008-certified Internal Quality Auditor.
