Dr Anita Balaraju holds a Doctorate in Linguistics from the University of Hyderabad and 12 years of experience in Learning and Development across diverse sectors like ITES, Infrastructure, Hospitality and Education. She has built a respectable corporate career, working for the likes of GE Capital International Services, Totem Infrastructure Limited and Bridge Solutions. She has a DiSC Certification as well as Six Sigma Green Belt (Quality).
At COD, Dr Balaraju has conducted groundbreaking research on ‘Critical Thinking’, a highly sought after mental skill and a crucial element in furthering oneself in professional fields as well as academic disciplines. A pioneer in a relatively new field of research, Dr Balaraju has played a prominent role in bringing prestige and accolades for COD. Her main role at the Centre consists of devising and conducting experiential learning activities with respect to communication and professional etiquette skills, team dynamics, and different leadership styles. Her approach towards mentoring participants is empathic, nuanced, personalized, progressive and inclusive.
Dr Balaraju has a pure passion for linguistics. While pursuing her Doctorate, she worked as a Language Assistant at the Central Institute of Indian Languages, Mysore for a project called ‘Development of Lexical Resources in Indian Languages’. Her deep insights and knowledge have found a voice in the form of well-received papers presented in various national conferences. Her research paper titled ‘Three Levels of Lexical Codification’ has been published in an international journal called Yearbook of South Asian Languages and Linguistics.
